Trench foot
Trench foot was a symptom that was felt by many military workers in the first world war. It was a fungal infection caused by exposure to damp, cold conditions mixed together with poor environmental conditions. Once infected the foot becomes numb and changes in colour to red blue following that they begin to swell, smell, blister and have open sores. All of these lead to fungal infections. Once the infection advances enough, left untreated it would lead to amputation, however if treated properly it was almost certain that a complete recovery would be made.
